Set budget and monitor expenses to meet budget plans. If expenses goes over what was budgeted, an analysis needs to be determine the reason why the budget amount was exceeded after the show and use it as reference for future shows.

Promotion of the trade shows in advance:

Promotion of trade shows targeting existing customers and potential ones. Usually it's done by a brief and clear direct mail and email piece that is sent out to potential trade show visitors to let them know the company will be attending to that specific show. Booth number, physically location of the booth and benefits that visitors will have if they stop in the booth are important information to be part of the message.

Creation of a nice, clean, confortable, and friendly booth:
Products have to be displayed in a nice way so the attendee understands the company message and don't get confused. Ensure booth visitors receive the information they need to make a favorable decision to the company. Visitors need to feel welcome and confortable. Sometimes a very cool booth doesn't encourage visitors to stop.

Grab the trade show visitors' attention:
Attendees at trade show pass by hundreds of booths. So the booth has only a few seconds, to catch the attention of a show attendee. Booth has to have a nice layout so the flow of visitors will work very smotthly and they will understand the message not only quickly but also correctly.

Record visitor interest and key contact information:
Once visitors are attracted to the booth, we need to record their key contact information and what they were individually interested in, so we can properly follow up with those that are real targets.

Don't forget proper show follow-up:
Follow up after the show on all the leads generated during the show needs to be done to effectively ensure that trade show investment is optimized. Trade show leads cost a lot of money so we need to make sure we translate some into sales.
